Our History

ONE A-CHORD blossomed into being in 2000 under the direction of current director and board member Amy Fennimore, who comes from generations of church musicians and has led worship for retreats, services, and conferences in California, New York, Pennsylvania, and her native state of North Carolina.

In 2005, ONE A-CHORD became a regular part of Lancaster County’s annual observance of the National Day of Prayer, which is held on the first Thursday of May each year. For nearly two decades, the choir has been a vital part of the worship for the celebration.

In 2011, the choir began to expand its ministry beyond the National Day of Prayer and into the community to include other concerts and worship events in churches, retirement centers, and other venues. The choir officially became a 501(c)3 in 2013 under the name ONE A-CHORD MINISTRIES.

To this day, ONE A-CHORD continues to participate in National Day of Prayer and perform at many other events, sharing the message of the Gospel of Jesus all throughout the county and beyond. We are comprised of members who represent numerous Lancaster County churches – as many as 60 churches are represented in our multi-denominational choir! We are united by our love and affection for Christ and music.

Director

Amy Fennimore

Director Amy Fennimore comes from generations of church musicians and has been involved in music ministry as long as she can remember. She grew up in North Carolina, and had her first experience directing a choir during a summer performing arts camp while in high school. She has directed several church choirs, led worship for conferences, retreats, and services, and ministered musically in California, New York, Kentucky, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and her native North Carolina.  ONE A-CHORD  choir members wonder how she doesn’t sing with a southern accent, even though she still talks with one!

Amy relocated to Pennsylvania in 1988, and loves Lancaster County.  However, she will always consider herself a “Carolina Girl”. She is a true-blue NC Tarheels basketball fan.

Pianist

Angie Lundberg

Our pianist comes from a musical family.  Her parents were in a Christian music group, “Everlasting Joy”, when Angie was young, and they always had their children sing a few songs.  Angie remembers sitting next to her mother on the piano bench at home trying to copy what she was playing.  At the age of 6, she began taking piano lessons.  She continued lessons for 13 years.

Angie’s first experiences playing in front of an audience were accompanying her sister as she sang at the local Teen Challenge, weddings and other events.  She was involved as a pianist for our Youth Band and around age 18 began playing for the worship team and continued for 15 years.

In 1992 she began working with Amy Fennimore as the rehearsal pianist for the choir.  Angie shares that it has been a privilege to use the gifts and talents she has been blessed with to help the choir sound their best. One A-Chord has become a family to her.

Pianist and Rehearsal Assistant

Ruth West

Ruth West was raised in a musical Christian family in North Carolina. Although she and her husband Wayne moved to Pennsylvania in 1988, she remains an AVID fan of UNC basketball.  A loving mother and grandmother, she holds a Master’s degree in Music Education from East Carolina University, served as a church organist for decades, and is a gifted accompanist as well as a singer.  Ruth also happens to be Amy Fennimore’s mom! She serves ONE A-CHORD by playing piano at concerts, and assisting with rehearsals when needed.

Assistant Director

Brian Bartch

Brian Bartch is a music-educator at Lancaster County Christian School where he has taught children to worship Jesus Christ in song for over 36 years. He teaches pre-kindergarten through 1st grade general music, 7th grade guitar class, 8th grade general music, and conducts the bands and orchestras.  Mr. Bartch received a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory and Composition from Millersville University of Pennsylvania in 1984, and a Master of Music in Education from Lebanon Valley College in 2014.

Mr. Bartch is a father of three sons, and step-dad to a son and a daughter.  He has a grandson and a granddaughter.  Mr. Bartch enjoys riding bicycle with his lovely wife, Ruth Ann Bartch, who sings soprano in the One A-Chord Choir.

“One thing I love about ONE A-CHORD is that we are multi-denominational. We all love to worship and praise the Lord in one accord. We love each other and our director makes me love the choir even more.”
